Having finally given up on NVIDIA for MacOS, I've just ordered and received a Sapphire Radeon VII and swapped out my GTX1080Ti from my Razer Core v2. Naively, I'd thought that 10.14.6 had native Radeon VII support but, although the card powers up OK, and the Core v2 appears in my TB3, the Radeon VII just doesn't appear in the device list, nor does it drive an external monitor.

What am I failing to do?

@technomad In this post you indicated the card is currently powered with one 2+6-pin and one 6-pin PCIe power cables. That means there's a vacant 2-pin on the Radeon VII. You need to connect two 2+6-pin PCIe power cables into the card for it to work properly.

Thanks - that’s what was confusing me: my Core v2 only has one 6+2 and one 6. But others have used the VII in the Core v2, with no issues reported. Looks as though I’ll need to source another 6+2.

That doesn't seem right. The Razer Core V2 I reviewed had a pair of 6-pin to 2+6-pin PCIe power cables.

Very strange: mine quite definitely has 2 6-pin on motherboard to 1x6+2 plus 1x6, hence my confusion. I've managed to find a 6->8 adapter in the attic and that seems to have done the job. Thanks for helping!
