I just got my egpu ip and running, and it works if I hot plug the GPU, when leaving for the day last night, I hot unplugged, which caused a crash.

I also just tried logging out and then unplugging, which caused a crash on logout.

Any ideas? I'd prefer not to crash every time I unplug.....

Thanks, ad

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

I think it depends on the system you are using (Mac vs Windows), the egpu enclosure, and the brand of graphics card (AMD vs Nvidia). For MacOS with an Nvidia GPU I believe this is a known issue. The best way to handle it, that I do, is to shut down and once the Macbook is powered off, simply unplug. If you start the computer without it plugged in it will function as normal.

15" 2018 MBP. MacOS 10.13.6. Razer Core X. EVGA GTX 1080 FTW.
