Now that I have a 2016 13" MacBook Pro with touch bar (ox 10.12.4beta+Win10) and a Razer core with AMD rx480 installed. I tried to do most of the stuff that are suggested but still cannot solve the code 12 error.

Three of the main solutions I haven't try:

1. disable the 2016 13"MBP Disable port #10 - 9D19, Because I don't have this in my device manager. Can anyone tell me how i can find this? and also i cannot find my camera in the device manager as well.

2. did override, I tried to find my dsdt file and add the lines in it, but it turns out that it has several errors that makes the dsdt file unable to save nor reverse to aml file. I've attached a zip file with my original dsdt file in the post, can anyone help me correct all the errors?

3. rEFIt stuff, its so hard to understand how to do it...

Thanks, guys!

UPDATE 03/29/17

I've decided to return the AMD RX480 Graphics Card and instead purchased a ASUS ROG 1060 6GB graphics Card. IT WORKS! No need to perform dsdt, nor any other things, just plug when see the windows logo, Bang! That's all!

But There's an issue. The Speaker Of The Laptop Couldn't Give Sound When the eGPU is Plugged In. When I start the laptop without eGPU the speaker functions well. Anyone knows how I can solve this problem?

Try disabling the iSight camera in the device manager and restart with the eGPU connected.

Do you mean the "Facetime HD camera"? I tried to disable that and restart with core connected, but it stucks at the windows logo during the researt process, I also tried to plug it in after the logo appears, it did ran into the system but still unable to make the graphic card functional.

I also installed the graphic card switcher, evertime I log into the system it appeared a box asking which graphic card i'd like to use, I chose the core and all of the sudden the screen collapsed and returned to normal within seconds with a box saying there isnt compatible driver for the egpu. (but I did have installed that)

I also tried that. the terminal replies :

"unknown file, won't backup (md5=195a9eb4f4cbdbd479a48f8b79fab60f)"

after the sudo xxx apply  procedure.

I'm using the ASUS ROG AMD RX 480 8GB graphic card

After disabling the camera, is error 12 gone at least? Just for clarification, you are able to do the following, yes?:

  • Boot into Windows with eGPU by plugging the Core when you see the Windows logo.
  • Detect the eGPU/Core in windows.

Try uninstalling the drivers you have installed. Also connect the eGPU into an external display. Then, try the following steps:

  • Boot into Windows in integrated mode and plug in the eGPU when you see the logo.
  • Assuming detection, you should probably see a display adapter in Device Manager.
  • Now install the required drivers.
  • Switch to discrete graphics.
  • Boot into windows using the same trick.

Maybe try these steps out.

Actually the core is always functional, only but the graphic card. I mean all the other stuff, no matter usb mouse or usb stick plugged on the core can be read while the core is connected to the windows system, its just the graphic card cannot work (but the graphic card is detected in device list)

The code 12 error didn't gone even with facetime HD Camera disabled. (maybe the iSight Camera is another stuff other than facetime HD camera? I'm not sure)

I will uninstall the driver and hopefully it would work this time.

They are the same camera, different names. If error 12 hasn't been resolved, the GPU won't work. You should try the DSDT override again.

13” model does not have discrete graphics, you can’t switch to iGPU/dGPU. TB3 enabler is meant for macOS only and not workable on 10.12.4.

Maybe these posts are useful, both using the same combo 2016 13” MBP (touchbar) + Razer Core:

Hope there could be someone who can help me figure out the errors in my dsdt file 🙁

Sorry I couldn't help. You might want to try the NVIDIA card first.

Did you try the pre-compiled DSDT?

https://egpu.io/public-repository-egpu-dsdt-overrides/

I am not sure whether it is for the non-touch or touchbar model, and you have probably a new firmware that came with the 10.12.4 beta. Proceed on your own risk. Do not try Clover method.

I would try apple_set_os.efi first.

Thanks. I'll definitely try it after I grab a graphic card with smaller VRAM. And also try to downgrade my OS X to 10.12.3

You can downgrade to 10.12.3 from the internet recovery but it gives you the same firmware (my non-touch says MBP131.0205.B15). No way back.

Okay that sounds really sad. But would it be possible the tb3-enabler would work after I downgrade the OS X?

and by the way do you know how to undo the clover? I've tried it once, but I've already deleted my windows and installed a new one later using Bootcamp. Should I delete the clover folder in the EFI?

I don’t know. My Devil Box (TI82) + GTX 980 works without the TB3 enabler on macOS 10.12.3, and for Windows 10 I use apple_set_os.efi.

AFAIK, Clover possibly rewrites your firmware volume section. You can’t undo. One user bricked his MBP by Clover method.

Thanks so much guys. I have just formatted the entire system disk and the computer, reinstalled osx and windows, succeeded to make the DSDT override in windows, but the code 12 error still exists. Maybe I should disable the facetime HD camera this time and take a try, or first try to run tb3-eabler.

Hi. I got a question. In downloading the apple_set_os.efi file I opened the GitHub link

https://github.com/0xbb/apple_set_os.efi

and figured there were no efi file download but only a apple_set_os.c  file. Do I need to download this apple_set_os.c file and rename it into efi file?

Thank you

Would you mind tell me how you finished the apple_set_os.efi process? I tried to follow what's said in the forum but still failed in this -- that doesn't make sense. Thank you
