I recently changed the front fan of my Akitio Node for a quieter experience. However I forgot to check whether the original front fan was for intake or exhaust. I had to cut the cable of the original fan to take it off so am unable to reconnect it now. Could someone who has the Node tell me the direction of the front fan please? It looks like an intake fan but just wanna to be sure. Many thanks!

It's an exhaust fan. The side panel mesh acts as a big intake for fresh air to the graphics card.

The purpose of the fan is reduce internal air temperature. Depending on your GPU cooling solution, you may find a more optimal direction.

Test is simple:

- install fan to exhaust air from the box, and close the box cover

- run FurMark for 10-15 minutes, and monitor GPU temperature (you can use GPU-Z or use Radeon Settings -> Wattman if you have AMD GPU). Right that temperature down

- now flip the fan's direction, re-run the same test

Ideally you should see one direction a bit better than the other...
