Hi. I'm a novice at hardware troubleshooting, so any advice will help. I've set up a razer core x enclosure, Vega 64 card, linked to my macbook pro (big sur) via thunderbolt 3. Monitor is ultrawide display 3440 x 1440.

Everything appears to work properly. However, when I'm gaming, the FPS will slow down dramatically (from 80+ to 3 FPS), and simultaneously the fan on the eGPU will wind down and stop. This lag will last 10-15 seconds, then everything seems to wake up and work properly again. This repeats every 10 minutes or so.

Any thoughts where I might start troubleshooting would be very appreciated!

@doctor_taco_, What's the model of your MacBook Pro? My first guess is a loose Thunderbolt connection.

@itsage, I have a 2019 Macbook Pro 15", 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel i9, 16gb ram. I hadn't considered a thunderbolt issue. I'll try the other ports and reply back. Thanks for the suggestion.
