Ha... Ok...

If we don't give an url, you try to get the web driver corresponding to the current version and fails if not found

If we set the url option then, you force the version number in the kext.

I didn't do any test, I prefer to stay safe and wait for the updates available together.

I am very surprised to see that NVIdia is very pro-active on this side.

MBP 2018, Touch Bar, i7 2.6 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1T SSD, Radeon 560X... very nice!

I got it to load and boot but ended up in a boot loop anytime I enabled the Nvidia driver. They might have held this one back for a reason. Since I was booting to the restore screen to fix things anyway, I just got off the beta channel. Everything works great after that.

I don't mind going back to the beta and breaking stuff if anyone wants to test something out or when the new beta drivers come out.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Is it plug and play now like the AMD cards or does it still require Goalques script, disabling Sip, and restarting?

I actually did not test without the egpu script.

I first disabled SIP, uninstalled, upgraded, disabled, installed and rebooted.

The Thunder3 is flagged as unsupported so I have to edit the IOThunderboltFamily but I have not yet succeeded.

edit: Manually edited the file and installed with with Kext Utility. All ok.

@Username Thank you for sharing the details. 10.12.6 requires either Goalque's automate-eGPU script or Rastafabi's Nvidia eGPU enabler.

If eGPU works well despite System Information shows the Thunder3 as Unsupported, I would say to leave it be. The tb3-enabler script has many checks before it executes the modification of IOThunderboltFamily so it doesn't work very well. You can manual edit the controller file within IOThunderboltFamily.kext by doing a Find and Replace.
