Debating updating to High Sierra 10.12.6 to use 1080Ti with the new drivers, does booting into windows with the rFIND usb boot still work or does High Sierra 10.12.6 change things for windows 10 bootcamp?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

I just upgraded and my card stopped working. Looking for a hack until Nvidia releases their fix.

From tonymac....

Nvidia driver fix

That didn't work either. I actually reverted back to the previous OS X version. Updating now that the NVIDIA driver is out.

You mean Sierra? I am actually using a Akitio Node with a GTX 1070 with nothing more than the enabler. I can restart successfully back and forth with Windows without disconnecting/connecting anything.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, Radeon Pro 455 2 GB, Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB, AKiTiO Node with GTX 1070

@lukicharms, Lucas tried to address this, but I want to make it more clear if needed.

10.12.6 is the last (most likely last) update for regular Sierra.  High Sierra, which is still in Beta, is 10.13.

I upgraded to MacOS 10.12.6 and my eGPU stopped working.
Installed the new nvidia drivers 378.05.05.25f01
The eGPU in not detected in MacOS anymore. 🙁
Any recommendations? I thought Apple was improving eGPU support. :-/

I also installed the latest CUDA drivers 8.0.90 but it says no GPU detected.
I'm using automate-eGPU.sh v1.0.1

mid-2012 11" Macbook Air + [email protected] (AKiTiO Node via TB3 to TB2 adapter) + Win10

Just spent a night working with all this. No support from Nvidia in 10.13 yet. Until then, don't waste your time on installing the beta, when our only stable build with the 1080ti, or all Nvidia cards/Cuda, is in 10.12.5.

Separate question, anyone know how I can downgrade my Sierra  from 10.12.6 to 10.12.5. Have had a rough trying to back out of 12.6, to the point of downloading El Capitan just to upgrade to 12.5. Let me know if anyone has any other pointers.

@simonasher I was about to waste a similar amount of time to come to the same conclusion as you, so thanks for your post.

Make a working, bootable Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper clone of your installation once finished this time.  On 2 separate SSDs is even better.
