Nvidia RTX cards and Mojave 10.14 upgrade, Bootcamp interference ?
So I am aware there is no current work around for the Nvidia web-drivers and Mojave 10.14 yet as of 12/10/2018.
My question is if I update to 10.14 Mojave will it interfere with my functioning RTX settings already in place and operating well and good in bootcamp. If anyone is experienced the upgrade Mojave and have any input on the bootcamp and RTX Cards compatibility with the Mojave update, I would be grateful.
I am finding the RTX Cards no longer work with the 10.13 High Sierra web-drivers. So I am thinking I have nothing to lose since I can not operate my eGPU (with installed RTX 2080 TI) on my mac OS side anyway. Why not upgrade to Mojave?
unless I am missing something and others have found a way to operate their RTX cards with the High Sierra web-drivers. Please share.
I've been using a 2080ti on bootcamp with mojave installed for a while, all good. I did heard heard of a user that had issues after upgrading to the latest version of Mojave. I stopped upgrading, but I don't think it would actually break it.
Nvidia web drivers don't have support for RTX series GPUs so they're not functional in 10.13.6 or older. Our hope is the next version of web drivers will have support for both RTX graphics cards and 10.14 Mojave. This may take a year given the current Apple «» Nvidia relationship.
Upgrading your system to the latest build of Mojave should not effect the way RTX eGPU works in Boot Camp. I've been running 10.14.2 betas on several Macs and eGPU Boot Camp mode remains working.
Hey guys, Thanks for the input.
So I decided to perform backup prior to the update to Mojave. I am happy to report I am having no issues with bootcamp windows 10 after the Mojave 10.14 update.
I even went ahead and complete the supplemental update for Mojave and running 10.14.2 without any issues. Life is good.
