Long story short, i've had HighSierra running on my MBPro 2015 and MBPro 2017 along with TB3 to Atikio Node for years w/o issue. I tried to connect to a TV on hdmi via usbc-hdmi dongle and somehow that massed up the display and eGPU ( GTX1070 ) no longer worked.

I went thru re-install web drivers, tried both automate-eGPU and purge-wranger etc. with csrutil disabled, even tried Krytonite by create an OC boot SD, but did not change out come; I get a black external screen on eGPU screen, though cursor could be observed there. It's also shown in System Report but also bunch o err msgs in console

At end of many days I tracked it all down to the kext's that are identified with invalid signature, these were part of web driver install and patches.

I've gone thru the process to set spctl kext-consent add 6KR3T733EC ( TeamID identified using codesign command against those kexts in question ) in recovery mode, disabled kext-consent, etc

Tried wipe KextPolicy too, did not help bring up the allow button in System Preferences.

When being loaded, they result errors like these even when specifically added to or consent disabled. All these times System Preference -> Security & Privacy never displayed option to allow these either.

Appreciate any feedback to solve this kext loading matter.

Thanks much!

following up on my own question, as it looks like a wider issue caused by revoked Nvidia cert.

New driver's expected to become available and the expertise of forum have created work-around scripts. I'll try that and report back.

While new driver seems to have people back to normal with their Nvidia GPUs but that doesn't seem to be the case with us eGPU users. I've tried all the troubleshot notes here, tried from existing purge-wrangler.sh, automate-eGPU and kryptonite w/o success bringing things back.

At best I was back to the black screen with cursor visible but it isn't running off eGPU really. Anyone else seeing the same?

New driver can be found here

@xpcyl8, Have you found a solution yet? It seems to explain why I am having the hardest time setting up my eGPU on my 2013 MacPro as I am having the exact same problem?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Same Here;

MacPro Late 2013 / Akitio Node Titan / Nvidia 1080Ti / HighSierra 10.13.6 ( 17G14042) / Boot ROM Version: 137.0.0.0.0

Upgraded from Purge-Wranger to OpenCore Kryptonite like a month ago, then two weeks later the System Preferences / Nvidia Showed up : "System Preferences must quit and reopen."  every time I tried to access CUDA or Nvidia Driver Manager...

Tried to re Install Nvidia Web Drivers from downloaded .pkg :

WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.118

WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.130

WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.135

All Failed upon trying to open and run .pkg (Nvidia WebDriver Type only )

Installing Nvidia Driver from Kryptonite Terminal Command was also failing...

Downloaded the new re-signed webdrivers compatible with 10.13.6 build 17G14042 (387.10.10.10.40.140)

from : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/cannot-install-or-use-nvidia-webdrivers-anymore.2346445/page-25

Installation goes through and runs fine.

Boot MacPro / LogIn

Power On Node Titan Egpu

Nvidia 1080Ti Gets detected from System Report : PCI and iStatsMenu (CPU/GPU)

If Any App or Software gets launched from that point all screens turns black and I have to brut force shutDown the MacPro and power off the switch from Egpu Node. Then Reboot the Mac without Egpu.

No Screens are connected to the Egpu but both are to the Mac Pro Thunderbolt / MiniDisplay port ( Screen 01 -> Bus 00 //  Screen 02 - > Bus 01 // Egpu  -> Bus 02 // ) always worked fine that way both for Purge-Wranger and OpenCore Kryptonite.

Tried to Plug one Screen to Egpu same story.

Tried to boot Egpu and MacPro = Black Screen on Boot

Conclusion : Can't use the Egpu anymore...

🙁
