thank you very much for your comprehensive answer! I'm thinking of assembling a desktop, in the end with 1000 € in addition to the video card comes a good PC and it will certainly be at least 20% better than now.

Honestly I am very disappointed with my MBP, installing the egpu was a disaster, I had to modify the boot.efi, I have to unplug and reattach the egpu at every boot and modify the drivers to make it go .. besides this the performances are really swinging, I thought they had better support ...

@enjoy,  I'm using aorus 15g with 10980hk cpu and 2080 super maxq. I play Ghost recon Breakpoint at 1080p with almost max eyecandyand get around 56fps, I plug in my aorus waterforce 3080 egpu over tb3 (yes I actually got one on a preorder) with same settings and external 1080p monitor plugged into egpu and I'm getting around 35-40fps. Egpu has max usage but is slower frames. 😔 

Is that a our correct or something wrong with my setup. 

 

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
