Greetings!

I am wondering if it is possible to get an Nvidia RTX 2080 to simply work with monitors and have no acceleration using an eGPU. I don't mind having no acceleration for now as I do all my gaming comfortably in bootcamp. It would be nice because I am tired of switching between monitor dongles, and the eGPU. I simply want to keep it all plugged into the eGPU. I keep hearing that people have done this, but I have been searching for months now and so far I have not found a solution. I only find that everyone wants acceleration on OSX when we all know that's not possible for the foreseeable future. 🙁

My Specs:

Thank you all so much for the help and kind words! 🙂

MacOS (Always Latest) 10.15.x
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Startup Disk: Macintosh HD
Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB
eGPU: Razer Core V2 with Nvidia RTX 2080

Running the latest version of Windows 10 with bootcamp getting 100+ fps in most modern games.

Patiently waiting for Nvidia drivers. All I want is to extend my desktop to two monitors through the eGPU. One cord to rule them all, but I won't hold my breath...

@eaglejs It’s not possible through eGPU. The only instance I was able to get monitor output on RTX cards was inside the Mac Pro tower 5,1. The system had no other choice but to use a generic driver for monitor output. Resolutions and refresh rates were terrible.

Darn! Thank you so much for replying! I greatly appreciate it. 🙂 I wish I knew before I bought the card, that's on me though, I should have done the research on that. But I can dream that one day, Apple, and Nvidia will be able to sing Kumbaya. I won't hold my breath though. hehe thanks again!
