I imagine there are approximately 0 people in the world with the issue I'm having, but my company requires us to use their computers—which in my case is a 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 15" with Thunderbolt 2.
It's reasonably quick for my work and I have it hooked up to a Blackmagic eGPU Pro and Pro Display XDR. This means full 6k resolution, color preset and auto brightness support, but for some reason True Tone won't appear alongside everything else.
I tried my current setup with a 2017 MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar, and despite lacking a T2 chip or True Tone sensors, the sensors in the Pro Display enabled True Tone on the laptop's internal screen as well as the XDR.
Is anyone aware of a way to force the True Tone preference pane to show up, or force enable the feature in Terminal? Thanks in advance!
So it's confirmed that Thunderbolt 2 mac with blackmagic egpu can support Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. That's NICE! Can you enable HDR for the display?
