Problem with windows logo bleeding into MacOS and constant flickering, please help!
Using fr34k's eGPU script, I've got the enclosure working perfectly on MacOS, but with a major annoyance. When I boot into MacOS, the skin flickers repeatedly with a transparent Windows logo in the background. I've searched the forums and tried many solutions with no luck including NVRAM reset, safe mode, reinstalling MacOS, reinstalling bootcamp, and changing Intel's display power saving features on Windows.
I'm sure this is not a hardware issue as the internal display doesn't flicker in recovery mode or safe mode.
Nothing in windows neither. Also, there isn't anything flickering when output to an external display. It only happens to the internal one, and regardless if the eGPU is plugged in or not.
I am on Nvidia web driver 322.214.171.124.40.105
MBP 2017 13" 10.13.6
Razer Core X
GTX 1060 GB
Thanks in advance!
This has happened to other folks... one guy fixed it by reinstalling macOS via recovery mode.
This happened to me and I was worried it would never go away. It happened because I never did that apple_set_os.efi so the internal screen always had the windows logo flickering while I was booting into windows to play games.
It carried over to OSX and I was really worried it would never go away. Reinstalling did nothing for me. Im not sure the cause of the issue but I think it had to do with the screen itself because after about 1 month of just using the laptop in osx and using the apple_set_os.efi from then on the screen just went back to normal. Someone suggested to set a screen saver and let it run for like 8 hours with the screen on but, I didnt try that.
It should go away on its own with time
I tried the screensaver method and after a day it was slowly gone.
