@kid, yeah, though running via OpenCore should be fine. I'm not using OCLP directly but manually configured for the 2014 MBP (based off of my kryptonite work) and it was ready in 15mins. So hopefully things should be pretty simple for your iMac too. I believe there's already a branch of OCLP on GitHub that has added support.

Is there any update on Navi 21 XTXH and 6700XT support in Monterey? Also "About this Mac" in Monterey no longer shows the graphics. Is this foreshadowing the end of AMD GPU and eGPU?

LOL I am desperately waiting to use mine one. But just found

According to this, it shows the graphic information though.

@mkzayar, Must be buggy. I don't see the Graphics line in two Macs I installed macOS 12 onto. Also checked with RX 6700 XT and there's no progress.

Hi @itsage , Yes, I am LOL cannot even sleep properly yet and also having some dream about driver update from apply Smile  .

 And thank you very much for your kind test. I was thinking whether I should renew account of Apple developer but the £79 was held me back. Truly appreciate it.

I have been tracking with people who are testing 11.5 beta do not see 6700XT yet. No idea when Apple gonna update the driver. Hopefully Apple release the update before COIVD catch me first Face

You don’t need a Dev account to get the update. Just use something like gibMacOS to get the update if you really wish to try.

Thanks. but have no experience at all with those script. So better listen from the professional. But thank you though because now I know where to look and need to learn something.

I've tried MacOS 12 Monterey with AMD Radeon RX 6800 xt, Core X Chroma, and Mac Mini 2018. The card seams working similar to MacOS 11.4 and 11.5. Great performance in apps like Geekbench, games etc, but there is no straight support for HDMI 2.1, 8K@60hz or 4K@120hz.

With SwitchResX it is possible to set an 8K@60hz desktop with a Samsung Q800T 8K TV, but the signal becomes downscaled to 4K when transferred over HDMI. The same happens when using the 6800 xt's Displayport via an active adapter. This is the same behaviour as with MacOS 11.5.

@tsakal

I'm using the The Club 3D CAC-1085, DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter. I connect the adapter to the Displayport 1.4 output  on the 6800 xt.

It seams to work, can set an 8K desktop/framebuffer, and the Mac system reports it as 8K@60hz, but the signal scales down to 4k. Same behaviour as when connecting the 6800 xt to the TV using one of the HDMI 2.1 outputs.

You don't need to renew your dev account to download betas. You can still log in and beta test dev builds. The yearly fee is for signing and publishing apps.
