[Sticky] Radeon RX 6800 / RX 6800 XT / RX 6900 XT for macOS -> AMD Navi RDNA2 Support added in 11.4 Beta
@guillem_g, there is no need to reinstall the OS. All you need to do is follow the instructions for setting up Kryptonite but inject the linked kernel extension as @itsage did here: https://egpu.io/forums/mac-setup/kryptonite-tb1-2-mac-egpu-support-with-filevault-sip-and-art-enabled/paged/7/#post-96272
Of course if it’s your primary system/workstation and if you don’t wish to try, that’s completely understandable. Just letting you know there’s an option if you fancy testing.
Good day. Which video card is better to buy?
1. ASRock RX 6900XT Phantom Gaming D
2. Sapphire NITRO + RX 6900 XT
3. PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil.
4. ASRock RX 6800 XT Taichi X 16G OC
macOS Big Sur 11.4
Not sure if you have tried this yet? Works for me on bootcamp with Razer X Chroma + RX 6900 XT:
@mike_deggs, Does it work without Boot Camp on macOS?
Yes, I have the 6900 XT working in native Mac OS as well. It’s worked in 11.4 and also in 12 beta 1.
Cannot speak to 6700 series card.
@mike_deggs, And what is your 6900 card, who is the manufacturer (AsRock, Sapphire, Power color…)?
I am using the XFX Speedster Merc 319 Black Edition:
