[Sticky] Radeon RX 6800 / RX 6800 XT / RX 6900 XT for macOS -> AMD Navi RDNA2 Support added in 11.4 Beta
Thanks.. looks like i'll be using this in a Windows or Linux box then. Kind of a shame.. I could see this one being helpful in macOS too.. but it is what it is.. I thought I had read this one was going to be supported in macOS - obviously that was mistaken.
I'm sure - especially these days - if I wanted to get most (if not all) of my money back I can resell it..
Thanks for the response, btw.

@tmo1138, Yeah, these cards would be helpful in MacOS for sure.
But it seems to me Apple’s moving forward from here now includes ripping the AMD GPU band-aide off completely.
Apple prefers its third-party-directed resources go towards helping optimize a few high-profile pro apps and games for Tile-Based Deferred Rendering on Apple Silicon GPUs.
Davinci Resolve Studio 17.3, Otoy’s upcoming Octane X PR12 for MacOS Monterey, and Balder’s Gate 3 are good examples.
Hey @nulled06, I have your _exact_ setup other than being on macOS 11.6 now. It's not recognized by macOS - it just shows as "Display" on the System Report, instead of listing the model number. Apple's support page ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208544 - footnote 7) says that only the reference 6900 XT works, but clearly you got the MSI card working, and I read elsewhere you said you didn't need any drivers.
Have you perhaps had to do anything to keep it working through macOS updates?
Hello, I have a problem with my eGPU. it connected with my MBP but it not detected the gpu. When I plugged the thunderbolts cable with my MBP it doesn't work it not show the icon metal cpu on the on menubar but I already check in the System Information.
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) Big Sur 11.6
Processor: 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 32 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X
eGPU: Razer Core x
Graphics Card: Asus TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT TUF OC 12G
I guess it might have a problem with my Big Sur 11.6 or my gpu not support with my os or the power on the power supply not enough for gpu.
Please help me how I can fix this problem. I spent a lot of time but it still not working.
We get to find out on October 18th how much progress Apple is making with its own graphics processors.
Unless next Monday’s event’s all about the Apple Car 😆
