Razer Core X on TB3 "up to 20 Gb/s" Why?

Hey guys,

I have a Razer Core X box with an RX 590 slapped in it.

When I hook it up to my new MacBook Pro, system info shows "Speed: Up to 20 Gb/s x1" for some reason.

I thought Thunderbolt 3 was capable of up to 40 Gbps, so any idea what might be happening there?

Specs: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB dGPU + Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB iGPU
Running Catalina 10.15.7

ps. I should also mention that there is nothing else hooked up to the machine at the same time.

@vonthing this looks like a hardware issue, I mean can you check the cable. Generally, if you are using the long cable that can give you only up to 20Gb/s

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
