Hi there. I recently purchased an Nvidia RTX 2080 based on its performance with Davinci Resolve, however I'm currently still on a 2013 Mac Pro trash can with TB1/2 and just discovered it doesn't seem to work with any of the scripts listed on this site. It looks like I got a card with no Mac drivers, which is a bummer because it seems to outperform the 1080Ti in Resolve.

Basically I just need to get a solid Nvidia card up and running on this system asap to finish out a project I'm working on. What's the safest bet to get one that's supported and working.  Would the Titan X 12GB or 1080ti 11GB work? My eGPU hardware is an Akito Node connected with TB3 to TB2 adapter. Thanks, guys!

I'm not sure the power limits on the PSU for the akitio node, but a 1080 would likely work. A 1080Ti is probably ok too (you can always limit power draw spikes in software). Not sure about the Titan X as I haven't been following that card. In terms of supported and working you are going to be using the web drivers from nvidia.

In any case, you should fill out your signature profile and stay a while ... it helps people keep track of what you are talking about in later posts. Be sure to review a successful build guide a few times for the 2013 Mac Pro so that there are no other surprises as you go through the process.

Ok thanks, I just ordered a replacement 1080ti used on Amazon for almost the same price. The 2080 is going back, but it's silly because it does work better with Resolve. I'm actually looking forward to hopping into a PC build where I won't have to worry about Apple's shenanigans.  😛

Hey, just wanted to say the 1080ti is working like a champ! I started with a Vega 64 in the Node, but it was causing Resolve to be very Crashy and didn't perform as well as I'd hoped. Now it's stable and smooth with this guy, so it looks like I bought some more life from this computer. Thanks!
