Hello,
I got a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 590, great looking, but with issues in MacOSX High Sierra 10.13.6:

- It's titled "AMD Radeon RX Ellesmere Protoype"
- Fans are running too high.
- Luxmark Benchmark are very low.
- GPU Clock seems to run at 400Mhz only.
- Heaven Benchmark is stuttering at 9 FPS.

I learned here that it was supported by MacOSX natively. What am I missing?

Edit: I cannot get it run in Bootcamp at all :/

Funny: On my other MacBook with Mojave, the Luxmark Score is good (so is the Heaven FPS), but still 400Mhz displayed.

Anybody can explain this?

EDIT: Now running in Windows, but not with Bootcampdrivers. It was very difficult to get it run. About MacOSX: Is it confirmed that it fully supported by High Sierra?

@oliverb Luxmark shows incorrect GPU frequency (value at idle). the 590 has the same device ID as 580 - so technically it should work, but Apple may have made 590-specific refinements in Mojave (since GPU came out after Mojave release), as they always do behind our backs.

Luxmark also displays this incorrect GPU frequency of 400 Mhz in Mojave, but the Performance is good there. Every benchmark is quite slow in High Sierra which is a surprise as I thought it was well supported in High Sierra, too. It looks as in High Sierra the system it stuck at those 400 Mhz, which about 25% of full speed while in Mojave it can accelerate.

@All
Does anyone has any experience with the RX590 with:
- High Sierra
- Bootcampdrivers in Windows 10
?

Look as it's generally not working well in High Sierra. Others have this problem too and it's not eGPU only. A Hackintosh-User reports, too:

"High Sierra ist fehlerhaft, niedrige Benchmarks. Ich werde Mojave 14.1 testen."
Translation: "High Sierra is defective, low benchmarks. I will test Mojave 14.1"
