@rolfl Patch seems to have worked correctly. Looks like Mac mini's aren't working for some reason. Please share console logs when you hot-plug eGPU via pm.

Works perfectly. MacMini (late 2014) Akitio Node, AMD Radeon RX580. Thank you!

And immediately my previous comment that "Mac minis aren't working" is refuted lol. Interesting that people are getting different results on Mac mini.

macMini 2014: Switched from 2 meter to 1.5ft TB2 cable and now it works!!!

Akitio node showed up just fine under Thunderbolt with 2m cable, but no graphics.
Did they put in a cable length check?

@rolfl I have a TB3 2mt cable and it works, it could be something with your cable or TB2 spec.

@rolfl good to hear! No I don’t think it’s possible for them to check the length of the cable. It might be that the wire might have a defect. In fact, if my TB2 wire is connected under stress (twisty, etc) the enclosure lights up but GPU is not detected. So a good connection is needed, and is sometimes sensitive to the stress on the cable.

@mac_editor Thanks for this info, I'll order another TB2 2m cable and hopefully that takes care of it.

It's working here with a mac mini 2012 and a Sonnet Breakaway box with a RX580, using script version 1.0.0.   However, when I first ran the script using

sudo ./purge-wrangler.sh patch tb1

it didn't work at all, so I uninstalled it and then re-installed it using the tb2 option

sudo ./purge-wrangler.sh patch tb2

and then the screen came right up.  I haven't tried version 1.1.0 since everything seems to be working well at this point.

I created a pull request that will eliminate all the bugs I found from running the patch tool multiple times. all other issues were already resolved.

Thanks Again for all your incredible hard work. I am so glad I am able to use my eGPU again. Had quite the conversation with my co-workers about it.
