@narender_singh, cheers. Good luck with your eGPU purchase. Also, if you plan on trying to get eGPU to work in Bootcamp, do refer to the builds.

@narender_singh, rule of thumb currently is to AVOID these with an incompatible chip:

1) ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT OC Formula 16GB

2) ASUS ROG-STRIX-LC- RX6900XT -T16G-GAMING

3) Gigabyte AORUS Radeon™ RX 6900 XT XTREME WATERFORCE WB 16G

4) PowerColor Liquid Devil AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Ultimate 16GB GDDR6

5) PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Ultimate 16GB GDDR6

6) Sapphire TOXIC AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Extreme Edition

2020 iMac 27" / i9 10-core / 128GB RAM / AMD 5700XT Pro 16GB / 2 x Razer CoreX with 6800XT 16GB + 6900XT 16GB -- Own build Threadripper 3970X 32-core / 128GB RAM / 2 x RTX 2070S 8GB + Quadro M4000 8GB.

@philw

I am sorry, but I think I didn't understand the part "incompatible chip", did you mean ignore the above mentioned cards or otherwise. I am hoping to connect them with Razer Chroma X.

@narender_singh, yes those don’t currently work with the Apple driver so avoid them.

Hi, I am currectly on Big Sur, just bought Core X and TB2->TB2 adapter, what is bet option for now for MacBook Air Early 2015? Have question if script is updated yet for latest varsion of MacOS? I have 1070 Ti from my old Dell setup, is it possible to use it both MacOS and BootCamp? Or what AMD card is best to get for using it only for photo/video editing.

Thanks for any info.

figured I'd ask before doing the 11.5.1 Big Sur update, will I run into any issues when doing so, or will SIP settings stay the same? 2015 MBPr 15", Blackmagic eGPU, Purge Wrangler.

no issues updating macOS; purge wrangler automatically updates itself and conveniently opens terminal.

I upgraded to Big Sur and i believe that i need to uninstall purge-wranger and upgrade to kryptonite to continue to use my egpu in osx.  When i try to uninstall purge, i first disabled SIP, and now its telling me to disable authenticated root.  In order to disable that, it says that i need to disable filevault.    Is there a way around this, or do i really need to decrypt my drive to disable this and then re-encrypt after?  Will this not take days to complete?
