[Solved] [SCRIPT] PurgeWrangler: AMD + NVIDIA eGPUs for all Thunderbolt Macs
how do I remove/uninstall the Purge-wrangler script from Terminal?
If you mean you want to remove the script itself, then remove it from /usr/local/bin. If you also want to remove any other files involved with the script, remove /Application Support/Purge-Wrangler. Remove only on a clean working system, otherwise you won't be able to recover if required (will have to reinstall macOS on top).
I have iMac21'5 (late 2012) i7,1tbFD, 16Gb, GT650M + Aorus GB GTX1080.
All methods with Windows were not successful (
I decided to try to dig on the MacOS and again the problems (((
macOS HS 10.13.6:
Installed purge-wrangler.sh for nvidia.
the system sees two nvidia cards (GT650M (dGPU) + GTX1080 (eGPU)).
Two monitors are defined (I use DM + Spectacle)
I have a problem with the error after running games from Steam:
Failed to create GL context: Failed creating OpenGL pixel format!
With the subsequent patch purge-nvda.sh MacOS stops at half load, and if you download without eGPU on the screen there will be brakes and artifacts.
Is there any solution?
@research777 unfortunately in your case since there is no intel GPU, purge-nvda won’t work. Because of this only Metal API works on the 1080, hence the error message. Unfortunately I do not have an NVIDIA based Mac to do some experimentation, so I’m afraid there isn’t much you can do but hope to get Windows working.
I already thought about it.
but while I was wasting a lot of time experimenting with the attempt to launch eGPU, the deadline for returning the goods has already passed (
Really other variants to launch my configuration are not present?
I have long been tormented by this inspired by the successful launch of this configuration by mrgeque :
but this guy has not been on the forum for a long time and I still have not learned the detailed instructions how he did it (
@research777 Their steps for Windows seem very straightforward.
the maximum I achieved this definition of eGpu, it's quite simple.
but as soon as the nvidia drivers are installed (for eGPU), after restarting the iMac, at startup Windows displays a blue screen with an error (
Yes, as there are no drivers for macOS yet.
