MacOS 10.15.1 does not fix the white screen of death issue (Mac Mini 2018, RX570/580).

The boot ROM is now 1037.40.124.0.0 (iBridge: 17.16.11081.0.0,0)

🙁

Good to know. I emailed Sonnet and they said the Vega cards work, I ordered a vega 56 to test. Try internal HDMI and EPGU HDMI at boot on tb3 Bus #0

@steve4332 Sorry to hear they have not resolved this issue with Polaris drivers on the 2018 Mac mini. It seems they are focusing on higher priorities as seen in release notes.

Do folks think the AMD RX580 will eventually work with a patch from Apple?  Of course, I bought one right before Catalina came out and it works great with Mojave, but I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't try and send it back... 🙁

@themadturtle11 Apple will eventually fix the Polaris driver issues with 2018 Mac mini. It's certainly not their priority so the wait in unknown. We have observed this issue for nearly three months now.

Vega fixes the issue , sell the 580 on eBay and buy a used Vega. That’s what I did

Take it from someone with a 2018 MacMini who made the colossal mistake of "upgrading" to Catalina: DON'T DO IT! I would wait for at least two more versions of Catalina. I've had Macs since 1984, and never had these kinds of issues with a new OS.
