Setup. -

2017 MacBook Pro 13 nTB
Razer Core X
MSi Air Boost OC Vega 64

This doesn't seem right to me... Or is it just me and this is normal with a eGPU?

Memory clock is at 945Mhz and clocks are at 1.65Ghz - I haven't tried to undervolt/OC anything yet, but I figured I wouldn't really need to. But this score seems too low...

Also, Geekbench is - 144823

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

That's fairly normal. For some reason the Heaven benchmark runs really poorly on AMD cards under Mac OS. For instance, my Vega 56 benchmarked ~20% slower than a Nvidia 1070 in Heaven, but 35-60% higher in Metal games. Wouldn't worry too much about it.

For a whole bunch of benchmark details and results that I did across laptop models, Mac vs. Windows, and 1070 vs. Vega 56 check out this thread:

Ok thank you Ozzy! And thanks for the link.

Mill try some other benchmarks. Any metal based ones recommended?

Good question. I'm not sure if there are any stand-alone metal benchmarks in Mac OS. I've used the game ones (that are in that link), but obviously you have to purchase the game to get them.

@souskei, on internal display this score is not bad for 1080p Extreme Heaven benchmark. It's fairly good, so don't worry.

2018 15" MBP & 2015 13" MBP connected to RTX2080Ti GTX1080Ti GTX1080 Vega56 RX580 R9-290 GTX680
