Has anyone been able to use an AMD card through a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure?

Yes, ikir uses Thunder3 and he will report about success on macOS and pre-release version of automate-eGPU.sh v1.0.0. He also used KhaosT’s TB3 enabler.

In the meantime, here’s my screenshot (R9 Nano & 2016 13” MBP).

Some visual artifacts via TB3-TB2 adapter though.

Hi all! Yes i have automate-eGPU beta script with MacBook Pro 13" 2016 touchbar + Akitio Thunder3 + Radeon RX480

I get OpenGL and Metal acceleration, the gfx card is super silent and very fast (and cheap too). There are still issue but connection directly with Thunderbolt3 there is no artifact.

I will post screenshots later in my thread, i'm very busy at work now.

Benchmark 4K 3440x1440 ultrawide 2x ultra:

Iris 550 5fps - 207 score

Thunder3+RX 480 22.8fps - 955 score

I am researching if, using `spoof_osx_version` with rEFInd, it would be possible to a) improve Thunderbolt (re)connect under BootCamp and b) enable both Iris Pro and discrete GPU. The latter seems more difficult than eGPU as Iris Pro seems to be connected to internal display by default and external display requires discrete GPU (and switching doesn't work). I am using MBP late 2015, 15" with AMD GPU.

Any experience here with enabling both GPU's? Or at the very least, force always discrete GPU but with `spoof_osx_version` enabled?

If it helps for eGPU: I have patch the Intel Thunderbolt software to work under BootCamp:

Hi guys!

My MBP late 2016 doesn't work with Akitio Thunder3 on macOS, only windows.

I'm already tried the automate egpu a lot of times, but when I reboot I got the same screen.

Thx!

do you know if it's possible to modify the EFI/Boot/x64 efi file on my external windows ssd? I've tried the usb thing, but when I select Efi boot after holding option on startup it just goes to OS X. I can't for the life of me get the internal egpu to stay on in windows.
