Hi All,

I'm just wondering if any one has used one of these styles of docks, and has had success with an EGPU connected through it? There seems to be quite a few variations of these docks available, most with very little or quite vague specs available for them..

I'm looking for that ultimate 1 cable connection to be able to connect up all of my accessories! Would be amazing if there was a device that would work with both an XPS 13 9380 and a Macbook Pro!?

@manusdei While it's possible to daisy-chain to a TB3 dock, the eGPU should be in front of the chain. If you're looking for a one Thunderbolt 3 cable solution, get an eGPU enclosure with dual Thunderbolt 3 controller setup such as Razer Core V2, Core X Chroma, or VisionTek mini eGFX. They are effectively daisy-chaining the expansion dock inside the eGPU enclosure. Alternatively you can get an enclosure with two Thunderbolt 3 ports. One for upstream connection to the Thunderbolt laptop and the other downstream to connect a dock.

Thats why I was looking at these styles of docks, as they use 2x TB3 ports, and have a thunderbolt 3 port available on them, it would appear as the TB3 port is a direct pass through? Meaning I would be able to leave the dock connected to the eGPU along with any other accessories, and simply connect the dock as one unit?

@manusdei

It seems to be a direct pass thru (I have not tried it). In that case it should work as well as the 90° adapters that @itsage has tried.
