Hi there @weekendiac

I just did the 10.15.5 update myself and experienced the disappearing eGPU Menu Bar icon issue. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling purge-wrangler and everything is as it should be.

Hope this helps!

I updated to 10.15.5 and my eGPU was gone.  Ran purge-wrangler script which told me to uninstall first, then I set up my eGPU again.  My mini started freezing a couple of times every day (I'm pretty sure Safari was open with a video website like Netflix or Youtube every time it froze). I had to go back to 10.15.4.

I'm no longer getting Apple boot screen with 10.15.5 on eGPU - MacMini2018.
Tried resetting nvram - no change.

Anyone getting Apple boot logo on MacMini2018 with eGPU/Vega64?

I’ve two costumers with the infamous black screen issue with Mac Mini + eGPU since 10.15.2. They fixed this way:

1) Unplugging eGPU and downloading combo 10.15.5

2) installing combo update without eGPU and reboot.

3) After the first load after update turn off, plug eGPU and turn on again.

@ikir

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried installing the combo update as well as the full Catalina package.

Unfortunately, I still have the black boot screen.

FYI: I always unplug eGPU before OS update.

@ikir

this solution doesn't work for me

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
