Hello,

I was wondering if my following set up will work? I have a GTX Titan Z (old one, not the new Titan) as the GPU. I have a 2019 MBP 15in AND a 2015 MBP (TH2 -> TH3 adapter). Does anyone know if there is driver support? I have successfully hackintoshed with the GPU in the past but I am not sure what the scene is like now.

I am thinking of buying a Razer Core X. Is this the best enclosure in the market right now? Anyone have any other recommendations?

Thank you!

EDIT: I also want to mention that I would like to power 3 monitors. I'm not really sure how it would work but Im guessing each of the titan X's inside powers two of the ports? This would mean that I would need both internal graphics cards to work

EDIT 2: Will this work on Windows too?

I have successfully used the GTX Titan Black on MacOSX Mojave, I think we can guess that the GTX Titan Z works, too, because it's the same chip, only twice.
So you will have support in Mojave, but still need to enable nVidia GPUs with a tool like purge-wrangler.

Windows may be problem, because I could not get run a Dual-eGPU in Windows. This doesn't mean it's not possible, but it's difficult.

Thank you for your reply! I don't care about Windows (as long as one out of the two works) since I only plan on single monitor 1080P for that. In macOS I plan on 3 4k monitors so I would need both working.

So I only need to run `purge-wrangler` to get both Nvidia GPUs running? Seems too easy to be true!

I tested it with another Dual GPU, GTX 690, and it worked very fine with purge-wrangler. MacOSX can handle Dual GPUs quite well. The GTX Titan Z is of the same chip family (Kepler), so there is no reason why it shouldn't work. It's good you have a Razer Core X because the GTX Titan Z is quite power-hungry.
It would be very nice if you post about your experience, a user build guide with the GTX Titan Z would be exemplary.

Of course, I will buy the Core X now! I plan on making a full guide with all the steps I took if I can get this working. Just to confirm, TH2 -> TH3 doesn't require any drivers or anything right?

Is it okay if I come back here or message you if I need help?

For TB2->TB3 you need this apple adapter you know of. In MacOSX you will need additionally software to enable it, fortunately you can use the same purge-wrangler for enabling TB2 and nVidia.

Which 2015 MBP model do you have? There are some which require hotplugging nVidia cards because of a boot issue, I have such model.

Really appreciate your reply! I already bought the egpu, th2 to th3 adapter from Apple and thunderbolt 2 cable from Apple. I have the mid 2015 15inch Mac (the newest one without USBC)

EDIT: do I need to install nvidias webdrivers before I run purge Wrangler or will it literally do everything?

You are planing to use Mojave, correct? There are no nVidia WebDrivers for Mojave, furtunately you won't need them for your GTX Titan Z, because it's natively supported. This is different for newer nVidia cards with Maxwell or Pascal chips (9er, 10er series), They won't work in Mojave.

Just got it! Did a preliminary test and I'm getting about 100fps on Unigene Heaven when plugged in (although it says Titan Z it only show 6gb of VRAM which is weird). I still need to test: USB ports on the Core X Chroma, Windows, Triple Monitors, Thunderbolt 3

I ran `purge-wrangler` but I literally answered no for almost everything so I dont think it did much lol
