[APP] NVIDIA eGPU support for High Sierra (NVIDIAEGPUSupport)
@oliverb while I have heard nothing (no contacts really despite friends working at Apple - dif department) I feel they have ruled out ever supporting Nvidia cards too. They've now invested too much in Metal and depreciated CUDA support.
I did notice on my LinkedIn Apple looking for folks to work on desktop GPU's sometime last year or so, had me wondering if they planned on making their own - lots of talk about ARM chips but people rarely think outside the AMD vs Nvidia GPU debate... makes more sense to me.

GTX1070 + Sonnet Breakaway Box + Win10

Vega 56 + Mantiz Venus + macOS + W10
Most people fold under the pressure. I know of someone who was once a very proud nVidia and Apple user. He was always saying, he won't let them dictate which card he is using. But then the pressure got to strong. His boss and his clients, they wanted results.. he had to update to Mojave. How could he do it with his GTX 1080? Only by complete surrender.... A very sad story and it's not an isolated incident.
Anyone in here remembering the magic of the name "3dfx"? It took me some time and money to get hold of the 5600 version for the PPC Macs these days but I got one. Just to notice that I was the graphical leader in "Unreal" with my 9600 UMAX PPC Clone Mac at that time without any future development. Seems to me that Apple still has difficulties to deal with companies that know more about digital graphics and visual possibilities than Apple itself. Ruled development somehow. Looks like Darwin has lost against Newton. Just play with these names remembering history, Apple history and else.
"The Diesel" had some innovative ideas which look unthinkable today.
Nevertheless the Diesel still does its job(s). Despite all the discussions about pollution and possible harming results on fruits.
How come that I think of "The X-Files" when reading the name "Sculley"?
Really want a reply on that one? O.K., I will do my very best. To me poor old Sculley just was one of these guys who knew how to deal with visions but never had any himself. Sculley was one of those managers who knew how to make lot of fuzz about nothing. He knew how to announce things that still were in development status. He knew how to advertize non-existant stuff. And he fascinated himself about all these things without knowing anything about them. If this does not appear somewhat "extraterrestial" to You I can not explain the relation between Sculley an the X-files.
And by the way: Insects still love sugar! Sculley should have better sticked to his former business of selling sugar water. And this sugar water is a definite link to the X-files to my degrees.
You surely know the old saying: "Which do you prefer, Scully nude or Sculley wearing a fine suit?". This is an easy one for me.
I do know that one. As he himself preferred the suit in the end it is not necessary to mention what was left of his work at Apple. We all know that one. Suits are a very special sort of "work clothing", very popular. Even at Apple nowadays again.
