Adding an update to my issue

Success!  MBP 13"+TB and a Mantiz Venus eGPU with a GTX 1080 reference card.

I managed to get it working thanks to some good suggestions from my previous post recommending I try disabling SIP then re-enabling without kext.  The issue I had was monitors were being recognized, but black, and only displaying the mouse.  The above recommendation is what got it working for me.  Please update the 1st page with my success to the list.  Thanks!  Here's hoping soon there will be actual support for NVIDIA cards with plug and play support.  So many kernel panics now...  🙁

Not working in 10.13.2 (17C205). Anyone have a fix for this one? Web Drivers are already out.

Hi,

I am trying with MB pro 2017 15'' with the latest supplemental update (10.13.2 (17C205)). Using the released web driver just released [1]. For eGPU enclosure, I'm using Titan Xp with Akitio Node eGPU enclosure.

My issue is I can't get the OS to detect my GPU. I followed the steps and troubleshooting and still nothing. Did anyone achieve success with my config/specs? Any suggestions/help would be most welcome.

Thanks so much for your helpful forum.

10.13.3 beta 3 has been seeded on 3rd Jan, let's say there will be around 5-6 betas (give or take) betas get seeded in a 14d cycle so approx on 30-31 Jan or 13-14 Feb

+ time it takes to update the kexts and drivers...

So I can only format mac to 10.13.2 for now?

yes, unless you are part of the developer or public beta community

Hi,

Just to confirm, I was able to make the above steps work with my specs (MBPro 2017 15'' with Akitio node eGPU, Titan Xp). 🙂

Titan Xp is detected, however, the only thing is the default graphics card is not switched from AMD Raedon to Titan.

Are you using external monitor or trying to accelerate the internal screen?

Hi,

just talked with the Apple Support. As far as the Mac-Support-Employee could tell (after looking into their internal Message System), they have a NVIDIA-eGPU Thread and there are people working on it, but there is no information, when their work will be available for us to use.

Nevertheless I bought the AORUS Gaming Box 1080 today and I will try to get it running with my 2017 MBPro 15". Sadly the box won't arrive until 18.01

I am confirming that on my previously working MacBook Pro 13" and my iMac Pro, with the latest Apple security update (17C2205) and with the very latest *.104 web drivers, the GPU is no longer detected by macOS. 🙁
