Greetings!
Have been lurking around these forums quite some time. Been eyeing this forum since I got my ultrawide monitor at the beginning of last year as my laptop's RTX 2070 Max-Q "struggles" a bit with that 3440 x 1440 beast, at the time, dropped the idea as the upgrade inside 20xx series didn't seem to be worth the steep price.
Now, decided to give it a try and have ordered Razer Core X Chroma from Amazon and GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 EAGLE 10G from local reseller, let's hopethe latter actually arrives and I can try it (core is already shipped and on the way).
If everything goes according to plan and I actually get it and get it working, I plan to post my build here results here
From what I've found here, most people have needed to install the driver's manually for both eGPU and dGPU to get things working, does GeForce Experience work with 2 different set of drivers?
The machine I'm running is Lenovo Legion Y740-17ICH:
- Intel i7-8750H (Turbo hits mostly 3,99 GHz, 6 cores, 12 threads)
- NVIDIA RTX 2070 Max-Q
- 32GB DDR4 2666 memory
- 512GB NVme SSD + 2TB SATA SSD
3 monitor setup (extended):
- LG 34" Gaming Curved 3440 x 1440 21:9 IPS (34GK950F-B) 120Hz Freesync via MiniDP > DPU
- Dell 24" P2418D 2560x1440 60Hz via HDMI
- Dell 21" P2211H dying old 1080p monitor via USB3-HDMI adapter

According to Lenovo forums, my laptop thankly comes with TB3 x4 lanes, looking at the schematics:

Heh, unexpectedly the GPU arrived today's morning, how it's possible, no idea. Ordered it 3 days ago, it said it wasn't in stock and it's still saying they are ordering it 😯
