Greetings from Perth, Australia!
Hi everyone! I've poked a few threads here and there already, but I thought I'd introduce myself properly.
I'm Tim, and I'm a software developer for Apple platforms living in Perth, Australia.
I became interested in eGPUs after my work took me to America for 8 months last year, with the only computer I had access to being a Touch Bar MacBook Pro. I was missing my desktop gaming PC very much, and so when I caught wind of the concept of the eGPU, I thought I'd give it a try to see if it could make a viable portable gaming machine out of my MacBook.
I'm incredibly interested in the loopback capabilities of eGPUs and laptops. Even though I'm back in Australia now, I still go to a lot of LAN parties, and being able to just rock up to those with a laptop and eGPU, instead of disassembling my entire desktop rig sounds very appealing.
Anyway, I'll be hanging out here as much as I can and looking forward to the progress of eGPU support on Mac (including macOS and Windows) as it evolves.
Hope you're having a nice weekend!
