Works perfectly in Mac OS, but having some difficulties getting it working in Bootcamp. I'm hoping to get some troubleshooting help solving my Error 12 issues, and eventually post the experience in a build guide when everything is up and running. What's the best way to go about getting started?
Thanks all, looking forward to making more helpful contributions soon!
Thank you! I'm pretty excited, this site has been a huge help so far.
I'm using a 2018 13" MBP w/ Touch Bar.
I've followed the steps in your guide, and was still having issues. Maybe relevant: I'm running the Mojave beta. I read somewhere (I'd post a link if I could find it) in another thread about Mojave causing the "large memory" section of Device Manager to disappear, making it harder to resolve error 12 issues.
Yes, both Mojave and the 2018 MBP are big headache for AMD eGPU Bootcamp users. If you have an external monitor, connect the eGPU to both your MBP and the monitor then boot the computer into Windows. Most likely you'll have the eGPU working through the external monitor but the internal display will get stuck at Windows booting logo.
I should have mentioned, I do have an external display. My specs should be in my signature now. Sorry for leaving that out.
If I option-boot into Windows with the Node already connected, the system hangs at the Windows logo screen, with graphic distortion - the screen jitters every few seconds.
If I plug the TB cable in as soon as the spinning gear shows up on the Win load screen, the system recognizes it, and boots to the OS as expected, but only the internal display work, and Device Manager says error 12 when looking at the 580.
