AMD RDNA2 Radeon RX 6000 series countdown starting 👀
My excitement is coming back.
“Big Navi” rumors are so old at this point, the alleged card was beginning to seem like vaporware.
But, hey - I’ve been happy with the compute capability and clock speeds of the 5700 XT.
So more compute units and a speed boost sounds like fun to me.
I will be excited when someone confirms that it works on windows as egpu without all the workarounds, sadly I think the chance for that is very very small
Hmmm, this kinda stretches across different topics.
Consider starting a separate thread to discuss the potential of Windows 2h20 to better allocate resources amongst devices.
Maybe someone can share their insight.
I did some cleaning and organization this past weekend while waiting for a new Nvidia RTX 3000 / AMD RX 6000.
@itsage, such flexing haha.
@itsage, I always worked on the assumption you bought parts to test (from Bestbuy) and sent them back after the set up write up, but no, you own them all, still....

@eightarmedpet, Laptops are harder to justify keeping so many of them go back. I bought most of GPUs except for Radeon Pro WX 9100 and RX 580 [sent by AMD]. The Thunderbolt 3 and eGPU enclosures are close to 50/50 in terms of purchase and sample. There are a few Nvidia GPU boxes on the shelves too but they are tucked away in the back. 😀
@lwf Top shelf has no more room. There are two more lower shelves! If it gets into October and there's no availability for RTX 3000 cards, I will wait until RX 3000.
The latest rumors continue to point towards the flagship card being loaded with 80 compute units, 16GB of DDR6, 2.2 GHz boost clock - and possibly 5120 stream processors.
The mid-range card might keep the same quantity of CUs (40) and stream processors (2560) as the 5700 XT - but increase the boost clock up to 2.5 GHz and increase on-board memory to 12GB.
