Hi everyone!

Using MBP (2019 base model+ internal display + 1080ti EGPU) encountered a problem. Using Microsoft Hybrid system have put a preference for RDR2.exe (and every process which could be associated with because have to launch via epic games launcher) and still egpu is not used in a game. Moreover, in the game setting there is an option to change graphics adapter but for me it's like grey(blured).

Found the same issue on the reddit but there is no solution..

Do you have any ideas?

Update: tried to connect egpu directly to tv (just for a test cause it’s ancient 30ghz 😂) and egpu recognizes rdr but if I try to change expansion to only 1st display (thus making internal display the main one) game closes... anyone knows how to trick it?

 Changing adapter inside of the game also causes the crash of the game

Solution found!

Changing Vulkan api ti DirectX 12 in settings!

@jefniro

Undoubtedly but still remains the question of optimization Smile

I had a similar problem with Forza Horizon 4, where it wouldn't use the eGPU in any way, it would run on the MacBook card only even though I have an external monitor connected to eGPU. I had to disable with device manager the internal cards of the Mac.

@emanuelediba

Used to try disabling of internal cards but in this case egpu underperforms so much as it's equal to internal card:)

What about forza, everything is okay. (even using internal display)

@sibov97, this is exactly what happens with me! DELL XPS 9500+Asus Rog station PRO + GTX 1080

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

I'm playing it on my Gram 17 at 1600p with my lowly 2070 (lol) and it plays really well.
