@whatisegpu_1, I'm pretty sure this is a CPU bottleneck. I get almost the same FPS on 1080p all low and 1440p medium. In Downtown and some other dense areas my FPS drop to around 40. And my CPU Time shoots up. CPU is at around 90 degrees too. Warzone is just really badly optimised and cpu heavy. I can play Modern Warfare on 1440 with RayTracing and almost everything maxed at a stable 60+fps. Warzone is running really badly tho. Almost no difference between dGPU and eGPU. Kinda sad. I tried to help my MBP by propping it up and letting a fan blow over it but it doesn't change anything. Seems like that's what we are stuck with.

I have the same issue with Warzone FPS drop from 90 to 40 sometimes.

MBP 15" 2017 + Aorus Box 1070.  I tried using Throttlestop to make sure it's not CPU throttling but no luck so far.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

I am experience these problems with my 2070 super as well. Sometimes warzone plays at a smooth 80-90 fps but then as soon as I face some buildings it drops to 40-50 fps which to me is unplayable as my 144Hz monitor starts to stutter. Also, I'm getting severe texture glitches which stopped me from playing warzone at all. The optimization for PC is absolutely garbage.

Tried this yesterday, I'm experiencing the same issues too. I'm using the system on my sig, Warzone in Downtown has major FPS drops. Multiplayer doesn't seem affected though.

Not seriously affected, though in Piccadilly my FPS can go down to 55 depending on where I look

the campaign interestingly runs perfect tho... I can jack up all the settings and get a 70 FPS consistently

In warzone it’s pretty bad, mine on a rtx 2070 with a macbook pro 16” fully spec is at around 40-50 fps

@jason_hwang, haha we almost got the same setup. Only use the nvidia drivers tho. Have the exact same problems as you. Did you get anything to work ?

Just to add my 2cents into the mix. Warzone was the only game which didn't run well on my setup. I've since built myself a gaming PC with the exact same GPU that I had in my Razer core (Vega64) and I am experiencing no issues. Whilst I used the EGPU I experienced massive drops in frames at random times, No matter what settings I changed it made no difference. I think eGPU support for war zone is basically non existent.

Wait for the next gen consoles is the only sane move at this point, as the game is completely broken on the PC platform.

“COD War zone sudden low FPS drop” on PCs (not eGPUs) is a topic that is probably taking  up 90% of Reddit’s server space. LOL

High-end PC, custom-built PC, PC that plays all other games properly - they all experience sudden low FPS in Warzone.

Search Reddit, search Activision Support, Search Google. There’s a million reports of low FPS drops that have nothing to do with eGPUs.
