I get 140-150 FPS on highest setting 2560x1440p for Doom and Wolfenstein 2. Fantastic.

Doom/Wolfenstein 2 Vulkan Ultra Settings:

  Doom Wolfenstein 2
2,5k 150 160
4k 85 103
5k 54 68

GPU is running berserk, 100% usage. This is how it should be.

Hi Oliver!

Which of the ones on your signature are you getting these results with? Pretty impressive.

@stefan_furtado, it was my Build with EVGA GTX1080Ti SC2

it's really an impressing card, I even "dumped" a RTX2080Ti for it.

Wow, interesting! I wanted to get a 1080Ti but the prices are now way off the carts (live in Brazil). Stuck with 2070 XC Gaming tho. I have a separate topic: https://egpu.io/forums/pc-gaming/rtx-2070-mac-mini-losing-to-a-gtx-1070  in which I am sharing nice results on benchmark but specifically with Apex Legends I am having a lot of problems keeping stable > 80 fps, even at lower settings.

Do you by chance play Apex? Any recommendations or results with it?

Thanks!

@stefan_furtado, if you don't mind a used one you can get a GTX1080Ti for about $500.
I don't know the game, but when you tell me exact name and version if the game, further the exact settings, I will try to get a demo of the game to make some benchies. Smile Apex Legends is free, isn't it?

@oliverb, thanks for the reply! Apex Legends is free, just download with Origin and you should be all set Smile

Try playing some "real matches" and not just training as there is a big difference there is terms of FPS.

I currently use these settings: https://www.gamingscan.com/best-settings-for-apex-legends/

I want to believe that the game is just badly optimised, really like the setup with Mac mini + eGPU, for me is the best of both worlds (gaming and OSX for general tasks). Let me know what your results are and thanks for offering to run! Oh and by the way, my nick on Apex is bruxo0 is you want to play some matches together.

Thanks Oliver!

@stefan_furtado, I will try go get some benchmarks, but I can't do this before tomorrow late evening, because I have to work. I will post the results here. As the detail-level of those settings is far from being max, I expect a number far over 100 FPS.

Thanks Oliver! No worries, I’ll wait for your input. With the 2070 I’m getting mid 70s with some drops on 40-50. Very frustrating.
