Is there an application, script, etc. to change games settings based on whether or not I have my eGPU connected?

Machine: Acer Spin 3 SP314-54N-58Q7
Intel Core i5-1035G1
Intel UHD Graphics
8GB Soldered RAM
Thunderbolt 3
eGPU Card: NVidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
eGPU Dock: Don't have one currently, but might get one soon

My research that I've recently done after a hiatus period of 6 months, suggests that, on a Linux-based system (maybe Macs too, I don't have any), a udev rule can call a script when an eGPU is dis/connected. That script could then modify the config files the games installed on this system would use, for example overwriting the game's config file with a premade copy of that config with graphic settings changed.

On Windows 10, no such mechanism exists to automatically trigger the replacement of the configs, but a similar script can written and the executed manually.

Apologies for necro-posting, but I wanted to post my findings late, instead of never and be a DenvorCoder9.
