What's more important to reduce bottleneck (Internal Display), RAM or CPU?
As the title states: Which upgrade will have a higher impact on gaming through the internal display? Is there trade offs to one over the other?
Macbook pro 13" [2.3 ghz i5 --> 2.5 ghz i7 ($270)] OR [8gb RAM --> 16 gb RAM ($180)] Are either of these upgrades worth it for gaming performance on a Macbook pro 13" via eGPU in bootcamp (internal display) or would the baseline model work almost as well due to the natural restrictions of the small processor?
I was looking at the new Razer Blade Stealth w/ quad-core cpu but I'm pretty dead set on staying in OS X for pretty much everything and just playing games in bootcamp. Also I want to keep the 13" form factor and wont be grabbing a faster 15" MBP.

I don't know about the RAM but we (the community) tested the performance of different configurations in this thread some months ago.
Although his thread might not be very useful to answer your whole question, I can bring a partial clarification regarding the processor.
For your processor upgrade the main gain will not be the increase of the clock rate but rather the change from a dual-core processor to a quad-core processor. I gathered some of the results contained in the thread and displayed them in a graphic. The aim was to compare the performance loss between quad-core processor and dual-core processor units.
The score obtained with a dual-core processor is indeed lower than the score obtained with a quad-core processor. This behavior is visible on both internal (~ 25% lower) and external (~ 15% lower) screens…
So yeah, I would recommend to choose the quad-core processor version because the performance gain will not be negligible.
Keep in mind that it's not possible to upgrade your CPU afterward. RAM upgrade is on contrary possible.
