Has anyone gotten more than 2x egpus to work in windows Bootcamp on a 2018 Mac mini? Or any of the MacBook pros with 4x thunderbolt ports? Not gonna lie, I want to try and use some spare equipment for some cryptocurrency.

@dregpu, That's what I've been doing lately too rather than letting my equipment sitting on the shelves unused between testings. I don't recommend Windows if your plan is to run more than 2x eGPUs. Try different Linux distros and see if you have luck with the system recognizes more than 2x eGPUs.

@itsage I was hoping the 10th or 11th gen Intel CPU's would enable better multi-eGPU implementation somehow. I'm too lazy to research mining too much. I just use nicehash, which is mainly windows only, although I do see they have their own "distro".

@dregpu, I have a B550 Vision D with with a 10th gen CPU. The on-board Thunderbolt controller in this setup still struggles with handling more than one eGPU in Windows. I've tried different arrangements but no reliable configurations.

Man, that's disappointing.

@dregpu, I will try with an 11th gen processor next, but I doubt there's much difference.

I could get a 2080 and a Radeon VII to initialize on my 11th get Razer Blade Stealth, but there was a lot of weird stuttering doing pretty much anything, and I couldn't get video output from the Radeon Card with the 2080 attached (it would run geekbench and the aida64 gpgpu bench etc).

@ningauble77, Does your RDS have an dGPU? I've found an dGPU host would struggle handling more than one eGPU.

@itsage, Yes, it has a 1650 ti max-q.  I usually disable the dgpu even when only using the 2080, because it leads to periodic system-wide stutters, and noticeably worse gaming performance when the egpu and dgpu are both enabled.  There is another stuttering issue related to the intel igpu, which happens when I close the lid for clamshell mode, signing out and signing back in to my user account fixes this problem (which I had on the 2018 13 inch MacBook pro with intel graphics too, same stuttering issues).  I believe I had stuttering on the desktop with the Radeon and 2080 working with the dgpu and igpu disabled but its been a while since I played around with the radeon in windows.
