Hi,
I currently have a Lenovo X1 Extreme with a GTX 1050 dGPU and it works flawlessly with my external GTX 960 in a Razer Core x Chroma. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and the new AMD RX 5700XT is ideal- however I have reservations about how Nvidia & AMD will work together
Will I still be able to plug and play without disabling the internal GTX1050?
Will the two drivers co-exist properly?
Currently the GTX 1050 driver will enable both the external 960 & the internal 1050 with no issue- can I recreate this with AMD cards at all?

@leon_woodward It's actually easier when the dGPU and eGPU and from different brands and using separate drivers. If you don't need internal display acceleration by the eGPU, it's a simple process like you already experienced with the GTX 960. Connect the RX 5700 XT eGPU and install the latest Radeon drivers.

@leon_woodward, did you get this to work?
I have a Dell XPS 15 9570 with 1050ti maxq and not sure if I should get an RX 5700XT or 2070 Super. I need to swap between two locations, one of which needs to run of he dGPU.
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

My Dell laptop has an Nvidia MX250 and I am using an RX 5700 XT in my eGPU enclosure. It works without issues, though I do disable the Nvidia GPU when I'm using the laptop docked (I've noticed some framerate improvements over having it enabled, though it doesn't cause any problems) so I am generally just running Intel iGPU / AMD eGPU. I just re-enable the Nvidia GPU if I go mobile with my system.

@andreas_sorensen, Sorry for the delay mate, yes it's been working as my daily machine for more than a year now.
I can hot plug in/out consistently with no issues, most of the time I forget that I'm even using the EGPU it's so consistent.
Having said that, maybe once a week I will have the TB3 driver get confused, but I'm pretty sure its only when I wake from sleep with the TB3 connected (laptop was disconnected during sleep) rather than from a reboot.
