"

Question: Hello, I'am an owner of Aorus Gaming BOX 1080 SN173841057948 GV-N1080IXEB-8GD rev.1.0 other TAGS ARE: 4 719311 302757 and 4/C/HG9850 00481 V17122

I have succefully plug this device to HP Elite X2 1012 G1 Tablet. Everything works fine except there is no PD charging:( From info what I already found HP works on 12V PD Line and PD 3.0 are 5V/9V/15V/20V Lines for charging. Is there ANY solution like firmware update or driver update to solve this mistery PD 3.0 Should be down compatible with older standards like 2.0 where is 12V line.

Answer:

Dear Jakub,

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. Kindly note the power from Gaming Box depends on power cord. It does not support to provide power through Thunderbolt 3 cable to laptop. Your Gaming Box and laptop are need their own power charge.

Regards,
GIGABYTE

I just Aswer :"Sorry but i think you know nothing about that product and you are wrong saying that gaming box is not delivering power trought thundebolt cable because this is one of the design spec in your harware- 100w power delivery 3.0. I suggest to ask someone with more expirience, and try to answer my question correctly. No harm filling best Regards Jakub"

Anyone from Gigabyte that are active on this forum maybe know is it any chance to fix that or not.

12V as a profile was unfortunately already deprecated in PD2.0 (the six 5V + 12V profiles originated in PD1), PD3 doesn't have a mandatory 12V line as such (see here for a bit of background). If you can't get it to work through Gigabyte, with devices like the X2 1012 due to the shortage of ports, the recommendation tends to be go through a docking station like the HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 dock, that way you can have all of power + ports + downstream TB3 device.

I just get answer from Gigabyte that I should contact HP for any firmware update of PD . knowing That I'm a little person and they are big company stands me on lost position 🙁

Maybe G2 don't have that issue and support PD 3.0???

4chip4 thx for a tip but not an solution for me. First its Another Device On desk  and Aorus have enough additional ports for any kind of connectivity. Second There is no guarantee that it will work and spending another 250$+ just to see will it work or not.

I will Try with HP maybe they are Cooking some firmware in case someone will try to apply Omen Accelerator.
