Just bought the Blackmagic eGPU.
I have a 2017 15” Touchbar.

How can I make this work with bootcamp to play games that are windows only? Any suggestions?

I'm currently running my Blackmagic eGPU within bootcamp (or rather a WindowsToGo on a portable SSD). It's been a bit of a pain but generally speaking:

- SSD and eGPU plugged in on left side thunderbolt ports
- Latest drivers installed from https://www.bootcampdrivers.com/ (and following the included instructions)
- Drivers for eGPU installed within safe mode (go to device manager, update drivers, browse on locally, select Radeon 580 Pro)

I am getting error 12 from time to time, but generally that's working for me right now without any hacks.

Running a 2017 15" MBP w/AMD 560, and i7 7920HQ

Looks like almost same problem for me, but i use Sonnet 550w box with 580 sapphire nitro + card.
Didn't know that this problem exist, because 360 video stitching software seems to work correctly, but in gaming i still use internal 560 card. (i have 2017 mbp with touch bar)
Tried gpu-switch, but it didn't help. Tried msi afterburner to set 580 card as primary, but in games it still uses 560. Tried to torn off 560, it uses intel internal graphics.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Hmm... The Blackmagic eGPU has been fairly plug and play for me. I have the new 2018 15” MacBook Pro. Once I installed windows via boot camp and plugged egpu in on the right side (never tried left side) windows recognized it right away and it’s worked great. Running about 150-200 FPS at 1080p in Fortnite. My only issue that I’m trying to find a solution for is once the egpu (Blackmagic) is plugged in, I can’t get the internal gpu (radeon 560x) to work, and my 15” MacBook screen goes black. It only displays on my external display.
