Blue Screen while installing Nvidia Driver
Im using the akitio thunder 2 with a GTX 1060. i am able to plug it in with it working properly like the fan of the GPU is spinning and the PCIe box is lit up. However, whenever i try to install the driver it will always go into a blue screen causing me to not be able to install the driver. Help pls :((
Are you using a Mac? Have you encountered code 12?
I am having the problem with 2016 MacBook Pro 13'' with Touch Bar, Bootcamp Windows 10 with Creators Update, AKiTiO Node with 1060. Here is what happens: eGPU is connected, I select "EFI Boot" using the stick method, Windows 10 boots and the GPU shows up as "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" in the device manager. But windows crashes when I try to install the GeForce drivers. The screen goes blue with some random white lines. No text on the blue screen. "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" changes to my 1060 just for half a second before that happens and then I immediately get the blue screen. It seems as if I get a crash as soon as the eGPU get probably initiated with driver.
hey, i managed to get it to work after some time.I found out that it is better to install the driver using NVIDIA's app instead of just letting windows download the driver. So long as the GPU is detected, uninstall any form of driver and install using the nvidia app. i would suggest using custom installation and use the clean installation function. This works for me, hopefully it does for you
I solved my problem by installing the driver in Win10 Safe Mode. For next time: What do you mean with "NVIDIA's app"? I did download the driver and started the exe file. That failed for me. Safe Mode saved the day.
