BUGCODE error when booting with eGPU connected in Windows 10.
I’m having real trouble getting my eGPU working. I’ve had it work a couple of times but I keep getting BUGCODE_USB3_DRIVER whenever I reboot with the eGPU plugged in.
When I hot-plug my Vega 64 gets recognised but I get error 12. Before I’ve been able to disable the x8 1905 thunderbolt ports and reboot, but now I keep getting the error.
I’ve tried fresh windows installs, using DDU to uninstall the drviers and reinstall them.
I’m running: 15 inch 2018 MacBook Pro, i9, 32GB RAM
Razer Core X eGPU enclosure
ASUS ROG Strix Vega 64 GPU
Running 1803 Windows 10 on external SSD
My main theory is that it was something to do with using an external drive, but that wouldn’t explain how I got it to work before. First time it failed I left the machine on overnight to download some games and it froze, second time I went to restart it, windows update triggered and it failed the update.
The eGPU works perfectly in macOS, so I don’t think it’s to do with the enclosure, power or cables.
I don’t care about using the internal display, quite happy with just an external one. I just want to get the eGPU running on a somewhat stable basis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
