Hello community

I have a Clevo P771DMG, with a GTX980M + I76700K + 32G Ram, but i´m very anxious to play some VR and i know that my card can´t handle it, so i was surfing around and land up here, with the hope that someone can enlight me on this matter

I´m looking for some eGPU station, where i can dock a GTX1080 TI, i find some cases, but i don´t know if they are the right ones, and the prices vary a lot

I have a thunderbolt 3 input in the laptop, and i just wanted someone that could ship to Portugal the cheapest and silent case with Display Port to my desirable wishes

Thank you very much for your attention

Well first of all welcome here to the world of egpu. Perhaps you will not get a full high end vr with your 980m but perhaps it would be wise for you to use the same benchmarks as some other people here did with a 1080 ti. The performance drop for an egpu will hit of course the most bandwidth using videocard like the 1080ti. Do you know perhaps how your thunderbolt 3 interface is connected ? As in to make sure it has the full 40gbit bandwidth and not like the dell laptops a crippled bandwidth ?

Personally i think you should also look into the 1070 benchmarks here and compare them with your own build in 980m. The 1070 is also optimised for VR like stated on the nvidia website witch can boost the performance up to 60%.

Hello my friend and thank you for your reply, as i passed to mutch time without one, i thought it was a ussless question....

I want to buy the Akitio Node because of VR, but after reading several forums, and after contacting Clevo without an answer, i came here again and saw your reply

I can tell you that regarding the thunderbolt i read about some update for the firmware and bios, but the downloads are gone from clevo website and i don´t know what to choose, I have BIOS version 1.05.09, my thunderbolt appears like this  ?dl=0 and i cant know if can have the Akitio Node that i want to buy....

Another thing that i noticed, is that my BIOS says that my notebook is P755dmg, but i´m pretty sure it´s the P771dmg

I´m looking for somebody with a P771DM-G with the necessary files for me to update, is there anyone please?

Thank you in advance
