Hey Guys

Im having issues doing this following the how-to section. Im not sure what prompts and what im suppose to do within terminal. If anybody has any advice or help, it would be much appreciated.

Ive copied the file into the EFI boot volume in a custom folder, but its not changing the file and im not familiar or finding any answers anywhere. Im sure its something simple but again, help would be appreciated. Thanks.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

The apple_set_os.efi file is an EFI program that has to be run by an EFI boot loader such as rEFInd or automate-eGPU EFI. The automate-eGPU EFI is pre-configured to use it, whereas rEFInd has to be configured to use it. Knowing what computer you have and what problems you're encountering would help troubleshooting.
