Hi!
I've just got my new 9500 (10750H/16Gb/1TB) and I'm trying to figure out if it works properly with my Asus ROG Station Pro and GTX 1080.
-
Heaven test seems to be underperforming:
1900 points against typical (for GTX 1080) 3000+
2. 3DMark Time Spy is pretty low, too:
6400 against typical 7500+
3. RDR2 runs on 45-50 FPS Medium settings
So, the whole system definitely underperforms here. Please help me to figure out why!
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
.@eugene_1, How did you set up the eGPU and are you using an external monitor? The screenshots show GTX 1650 Ti dGPU active which I think interfere with the performance.

I tried using DDU, uninstalling all video drivers and reinstalling them again. Also, I disabled GTX 1650 manually in Windows. Result is the same: 3DMark ~6500 (which is, at least, some normal minimum) and Heaven is ~2000, which is 30% from average score. Don't know where to dig next 🙁

.So. I tried running eGPU with external display and results are totally the same as with the internal display.
3DMark:
6500 points against 7500 average
Heaven:
2000 points against 3500 average
Which means that my eGPU setup is 30% behind in terms of performance.
Please help me figure out why!
P.S. maybe something is wrong with my Thunderbolt3 software or drivers, but I'm not sure how to set the up properly. I did reinstall them though.

.Huh, what? You only posted the Heaven score when running it on your external display. It's showing as 81 fps.
Your graphic score shown in Time Spy is 6368 on the external display.
Can you post screen shots of the Heaven and Time Spy scores running on the XPS15 internal display?
Also, post screenshots of your Windows Power Mode and Nvidia Control Panel settings. Those should be set to Best Performance.
You can also run Intel Power Gadget at the same time as Heaven to keep an eye on your CPU clock speed and temperature and and make sure they aren't being throttled way down by Dell's default power/thermal management scheme.
Normally, your CPU use in Heaven should be relatively low, and your laptop shouldn't need to throttle your CPU.
Please check my first post, there are 2 photos of my internal display with 3dmark and heaven scores. Windows power mode and nvidia settings are set to best performance, of course. Also, AIDA and CUDA show normal speeds:
The only idea so far is that there is something wrong with Windows advanced power options, but I can't get to them, because with 2004 windows update ther are simply gone 😯

.Do you have any other thunderbolt devices attached? What external display and cable are you using?
I don't have any other thunderbolt devices. For external display I used HDMI cable and Samsung TV, that"s all that I have

.Still trying to figure stuff out. I have just launched Witcher 3 on Ultra and I'm getting like 40-50 FPS (instead of 100+).
Interesting thing is that Windows shows me 99% of GPU usage:
But, judging by the FPS, it should be around 50%, right?
Any ideas, why? Maybe something is draining GPU?

.@eugene_1, Have you tried disabling the other display adapters in device manager? Also, make sure that your power settings are set to max on your power profile and in the nvidia control panel. Although I manage to get Assassins creed valhalla running at 55-60fps on medium with 8565u + Rtx 2080 Super. So I can imagine the 1080 would perform a lot worse.
