i'm using my devilbox with a gtx 1080ti on a macbook pro 15" (2017) for over a year in bootcamp now. always without problems.
yesterday i wanted to start my setup without success. when checking the device manager the GTX 1080ti did not show up.
i checked in macOS if i can see the devilbox under TB devices, but it does not show up. The USB ports of the DevilBox deliver power as long as it is connected to the macbook as usual, so i guess the GPU is working. I also tried all 4 TB ports on the MB without success...

i fear that something of the board in the DevilBox is broken and i have to replace it.
has someone an idea what i could try before buying a new enclosure?

sounds like dead GPU (do fans spin?), try reseating it, eGPU enclosures will work without GPUs, at least mine does.

If you're running bootcamp, when you connect the eGPU enclosure you should be able to see the Thunderbolt controller in the Device Manager (and select view by connection to navigate that mess easily). If you DON'T see the TB3 controller, then I would say it's your enclosure's card - otherwise, it's the video card.

My setup also encountered this issue. It was working fine intermittently.
I had to turn off the power of eGPU enclosure for three to five days after it stopped working.

After the waiting period, it started to work again.
I am using Akitio Node with GTX 1060 on MBP 15 inch 2019.
Also tested it on MBP 2015, same thing occurs.

Thinking about getting a new card..
