My setup:

XPS 9310 (i7-1165G7, 32GB DDR4, Ultra Performance in Dell Power Manager)

Razer Core X Chroma (keyboard and mouse connected via USB hub)

1080ti

Dell ultrawide external monitor

Problem:

5-10 minutes after plugging in my egpu, my computer blue screens with a driver power state failure error. I have noticed this happens more often if my laptop battery is low (my laptop charges using the thunderbolt cable as well), I start a game soon after plugging my egpu in, or my laptop goes to sleep. This behavior isn't consistent or definite--sometimes I have no issue and other times it can happen after an hour of use. Other than this issue, the egpu works really well without other problems.

Solutions I have tried:

I verified that my drivers for my graphics card were up to date. I also deselected the option to allow my computer to turn thunderbolt off to save battery.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
